KKR plans to invest $1bn to build a new European data center venture; Global Technical Realty (“GTR”).
The leading global investment firm is teaming up with Franek Sodzawiczny, an industry veteran to launch GTR, which will build and develop data centers for big tech companies in the European market.
Moreover, GTR has partnered with Mercury Engineering, a top European engineering contractor to design and support the development of a data center product catered to needs of large cloud service providers.
Data centers are attracting interest from PE companies, as more firms outsource the storage of large sets of information to third – party providers.
