Steffen founded Moonfare in 2016 with the vision to democratize private investing. He runs the company as Chairman and CEO. Steffen is a serial entrepreneur with a strong background in the private equity industry. Before becoming an entrepreneur Steffen served as a Managing Director of private equity at KKR. While at KKR, he was responsible for the firm’s coverage of the German market. Prior to joining KKR, he was co-founder and served as Chief Executive Officer of firstfive AG. He served as Chairman of The Supervisory Board at A.T.U Auto-Teile-Unger Investment GmbH & Co. KG and as a member of the Advisory Board at Versatel, Serbia Broadband and Hertha BSC. Steffen holds a B.A. with high distinction from the University of Mannheim and the Ecole Superieure des Sciences Economiques and a Ph.D. from the University of Trier. He worked as a research assistant at Harvard University where he wrote his master thesis. Steffen lives in Munich with his wife and children.

Lorenz oversees Moonfare's Tech, Product, Finance and Legal/Compliance functions. Prior to Moonfare he was responsible for N26's product until it reached unicorn status and most recently worked as a contractor with startup veterans in San Francisco, which equip him with a lot of FinTech experience. Prior to his startup days Lorenz worked for 12 years at McKinsey — six of those years as a partner. Lorenz is a physicist by training and holds a PhD in material science. In his free time he plays blues guitar and is a passionate amateur road cyclist.

Magnus runs Private Equity for Moonfare, ensuring that our investors have access to a steady flow of top-tier private equity funds. He brings considerable experience from private equity, both as an investor with Apax Partners, and as an operator in Cole Haan, one of the fund’s portfolio companies. While at Apax Partners, Magnus advised on a number of transactions in the consumer and retail industry. At Cole Haan, a high-end manufacturer and retailer of footwear and leather goods based in New York, Magnus was responsible for building and executing corporate strategy. Prior to joining Apax Partners, Magnus spent several years at J.P. Morgan in London advising on Consumer, Healthcare and Retail transactions. Magnus earned an MSc with a focus in Finance from Stockholm School of Economics and his MBA from Harvard Business School. In his free time Magnus practices his passions of sports, cooking and photography.

Alexander is a co-founder of Moonfare and supports Moonfare as a Board Member. He brings deep experience as an entrepreneur and investor, having built and invested in companies over the past 12 years. Alexander is also a co-founder of 7 Global Capital, a cross-border technology growth fund with offices in San Francisco and Berlin. Previously, Alexander co-founded Somuchmore, a pan-European health and fitness technology platform that was acquired in 2016. Before becoming an entrepreneur, he was a member of KKR’s Private Equity team having worked on a number of transactions across technology, business services, and energy. Alexander started his career with J.P. Morgan in Investment Banking in New York and London. He has completed his military service in Greece, serving in the anti-aircraft artillery battalion in the island of Limnos and at the army’s command center in Athens. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree with a dual major in Civil Engineering and Economics from Tufts University (magna cum laude), and obtained his MBA from INSEAD. Alexander lives in Berlin, is passionate about world affairs, and loves the Aegean sea.

Heinrich is a Co-founder of Moonfare and supports Moonfare as a Board Member, strategic advisor and Chairman of Asia. Heinrich is a Professor in the MBA and Executive Programs at IESE Business School and the Chairman of the Munich Campus of IESE. He specializes in entrepreneurial finance, management of wealth and governance of entrepreneurial families. Heinrich is co-author on several publications on private equity. His ongoing research in this field focuses on operational value creation in private equity, impact investing and governance of entrepreneurial families. As a consultant he collaborated with leading families and financial institutions and serves on the board of family controlled foundations. Prior to his academic career, Professor Liechtenstein was engaged in the family-owned Liechtenstein Global Trust (LGT) dealing with ultra high net worth individuals. He also advised families within the Boston Consulting Group and established and sold two successful businesses. Heinrich holds a Ph.D. in Managerial Science and Applied Economics from The Economics School of Vienna, Austria, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from IESE Business School, and a BSc in Business Economics from the University of Graz. Heinrich lives in Barcelona and Munich.

Thomas supports Moonfare as a Board Member and strategic advisor. Until recently, Thomas served as Chairman of Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer of ProSieben Digital Media GmbH, a position he held since 2009. Prior to joining ProSieben, Thomas served as Chief Executive Officer of multiple divisions of Novartis AG including Novartis Pharma AG, Pharmaceuticals at Novartis Consumer Health, Inc., Novartis Nutrition World Wide, and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Division. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Torrent Systems, Inc. Thomas worked with Pepsi-Cola in Germany as a Marketing Manager, before becoming Marketing Director and National Sales and Franchise Director. Prior to working for Pepsi-Cola, Thomas served in several positions at Reemstma Germany. He has been a Member of Supervisory Board at Bayer Aktiengesellschaft (also know as Bayer AG), Member of the Supervisory Board at GfK SE, Member of Advisory Board at UBS Oncology Impact Fund, and Director of Cullinan Oncology, LLC. He serves as a member of the advisory boards of Sivantos, a world leading hearing aid company. Previously, Thomas served as an Independent Director of Lonza Group Ltd and Director of Idenix Pharmaceuticals Inc. Mr. Ebeling holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Hamburg.

Christian joined Fidelity in August 2018 as Managing Director Europe and is responsible for managing the wholesale and institutional client-facing businesses across Europe. He serves as a member of the Moonfare advisory board since 2021. Christian worked for some of the financial sector's most respected names including BlackRock, Allianz Asset Management, UBS and PIMCO. He has worked in the US, Asia, where he spent three years, and Europe. He has experience of managing large businesses at scale, as well as broad responsibility for distribution across all business lines in Europe, and global responsibility for major client relationships. He trained initially as an investment analyst and extended his investment knowledge further at PIMCO. Christian graduated in Finance from the University of St. Gallen and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School; he is also a CFA Charterholder.

Polansky co-founded the Parker Foundation in 2010 with acclaimed entrepreneur and philanthropist Sean Parker and currently serves as Executive Director. Prior to joining the Parker Group, Polansky was with Bridgewater and Founders Fund, where he focused on consumer internet and emerging technology. In addition to his work with the Parker Foundation, Polansky is also the Managing Partner at Parker Ventures, CEO of the Parker Group, and a board member of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy. Polansky is also the co-founder of Avos Capital Management, a privately held investment firm managing tailored portfolios for high net worth individuals and families. He is a graduate of Harvard University with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science.

Dean Nelson joins Moonfare’s Board with over forty years of experience in venture capital, private equity, and consulting. He is currently a Partner at Sageview Capital, a private investment firm focused on partnering with industry-defining innovators to build enduring software and tech-enabled businesses. Sweta is Head of Investment, Europe, and leads the investment team, with responsibilities for the sourcing, due-diligence and portfolio management of Private Markets investments globally. She has over a decade of experience as a Limited Partner investor, investing in Private Markets Funds and Co-investments across a number of strategies and geographies. Previously she headed up Private Equity advisory at bfinance, a global investment consultancy where she was responsible for advising a wide range of global institutional investors, from pension funds to family offices, on investment strategy and selection, due-diligence and implementation. Prior to that, Sweta was a Senior Investment Manager at RPMI Railpen (the £30bn UK Railways Pension Scheme), where she was responsible for leading Private Equity and Debt investments. She has also held roles at Adveq, USS and ABN Amro before that. She holds an L.L.B from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from INSEAD.

Winson is a seasoned private markets fund professional with over 20 years experience, and joined Moonfare as Chief Investment Officer in 2020. He is now Senior Advisor and member of Moonfare's Investment Committee. Prior to this he was at UBS Wealth Management and at GIC the Singaporean sovereign wealth fund, where he managed significant commitments to a large number of private equity funds as well as executed a wide range of co-investments. His coverage has included a full complement of growth, mid-market and large buyout funds as well as funds in mezzanine, credit, infrastructure and venture capital globally. Winson has served as an advisory board member for over 20 private equity funds. He has an MBA from INSEAD and graduated with a medical degree from the University of London.
Nadim is an Investor Solutions Manager based in Moonfare’s London office. He joined in March 2022 to help with the growth of the UK market. Prior to joining, Nadim spent 5 years at UBS Wealth Management in London covering a book of UK and MENA based clients. Nadim holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the university of Assas (Paris-II) and a master’s degree in Business Finance from the Queen Mary University of London.

Based in Berlin with regular time in London, Sam manages our growing team of Investor Solutions Managers who cover our active regions with specific geographical focuses. Previously, Sam led Moonfare's growth in the UK market having joined the company in February 2020. Prior to Moonfare, Sam spent 6 years at Coutts & Co. private bank in the International team based in London, where he advised High-Net Worth Individuals and Family Offices on their holistic wealth management including multi-asset class investment planning and structuring across jurisdictions. Sam holds a Bachelor's degree in Politics, Philosophy & Economics and an MBA from INSEAD, spending time across both France and Singapore campuses.
As Country Manager, Khaled’s primary role is to develop Moonfare's distribution channels in Switzerland. He also focuses on managing and developing Moonfare’s proprietary Secondary Market. Previously, Khaled helped to lead Moonfare's growth across continental Europe, having joined the company in 2020. Prior to Moonfare, Khaled spent 5 years between Dubai and his native home of Washington DC at the International Finance Corporation - the private sector arm of the World Bank. There he supported the Global Financial Institutions Group in sourcing and structuring private equity and credit transactions across the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. Khaled holds a BA in International Business & Management, and an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid. When not in the office Khaled enjoys connecting to history when traveling and keeping up with the arts.
Marla is an Investor Solutions Manager at Moonfare, being with the company since over 2,5 years. She started her career as a finance intern and returned after graduation to support in our back-end operations related to fund management and reporting. Marla developed further and joined the investor relations team where she is now responsible for our core market Germany as well as the expansion and organic growth in Austria. She holds an undergraduate degree in International Business from Maastricht University with an exchange programme with Jiao Tong University in Shanghai. and a Master’s degree in Finance from Nova Business School in Lisbon.
Gianmarco is an Investor Solutions Manager at Moonfare, based in the firm’s Berlin office. He joined in November 2020 in order to look after Moonfare’s investors in Southern Europe. Prior to joining, he was an entrepreneur and Associate for a Zurich-based VC boutique and an analyst for J.P. Morgan International Private Bank in Geneva. Gianmarco holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business from LUISS & Utrecht University and an MBA from GIHE in Switzerland.
Max is an Investor Solutions Manager at Moonfare, based in the firm’s London office. He joined in May 2021 in order to look after Moonfare’s investors in the UK. Prior to joining, he was a sell-side equity analyst on the Metals & Mining team at Liberum. Before that, he spent 4 years as a generalist equity analyst at wealth manager LGT Vestra, covering UK large and mid-cap stocks. Max has been a CFA Charterholder since 2019, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with French from the University of Nottingham.

Karim Boussetta is an Investor Solutions Manager focused on the French market. Prior to joining Moonfare in 2022, Karim worked at Goldman Sachs in London and at PIMCO where he focused on UK and Irish clients as well as the consultant relations group. Karim holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from SOAS, a master’s degree in Security studies from the University College London (UCL) and an MBA from INSEAD.
Qianning joined Moonfare in November 2021, as part of the APAC Business Development team based in Singapore. She is responsible for growing the direct consumer space in Singapore, as well as implementing strategy initiatives to expand Moonfare’s presence in the Asia Pacific region. Qianning started her career in UBS New York on the credit trading desk as a Fixed Income Analyst, covering TMT and banks in the High Yield space. Upon her move back to Asia, Qianning spent the next 5 years in UBS Singapore Wealth Management as part of the Graduate Training Programme, and eventually undertaking the role of a Client Account Manager advising on High Net Worth Individuals. Qianning completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Bath, majoring in Accounting and Finance.
As part of the Business Development team in Asia, Stanley looks after investors in the region and supports the rolling out of initiatives to expand Moonfare’s reach. Stanley was the first intern in the Asia team before returning as a full-time member after graduation. Stanley studied Systems Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong with full-tuition scholarships and graduated with First Class Honours. He was a member of Prof. Charles K. Kao Scholars Network and a two-time recipient of Yale-China Associaton Scholarships. As a student, he travelled extensively for business and engineering competitions and was honoured multiple awards at the national and international level. Stanley also studied abroad at the University of Notre Dame as a Lanson Exchange Scholar and received entrepreneurial training at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, MIT (MEMSI) and Tsinghua University. In his free time, he enjoys volunteering, coding, and DJ-ing. Stanley is a CAIA and FRM charterholder.
