Ewa Sigmund joined Moonfare in 2020 as an intern in Berlin: her first full-time job after university. Over the next four years, she was promoted three times, progressing all the way up to Senior Product Manager.

Today, Ewa works at Google in Dublin. We sat down to talk about how her time at Moonfare set her up for the success she's achieving today.

Let’s jump right in. What did you enjoy most about working at Moonfare?

The brainstorming sessions. I loved those sessions where it was me and other product managers, designers and engineers in a room, throwing out ideas, writing them on sticky notes and covering the walls with them.

There were no wrong answers, no silly ideas, just freeflowing creative thinking.

What was the most valuable skill you took away?

Understanding the problem before you try to solve it. Don’t even start to think of solutions until you completely understand the problem from the client’s perspective.

You can't build the right solution if you don't truly understand what you're solving for. That principle was exactly how we approached product management, and I use it all the time now.

That leads me to my next question: what is your new role at Google?

I'm now an Account Manager at the Dublin HQ.

I work with big advertisers, helping them solve marketing challenges using Google's advertising products, like YouTube, Google Search, Display and Shopping ads.

It's a big shift from product management, but I’m still using similar skills.

How so?

It’s all about fully understanding the problem, from the client's perspective, before creating the right solution. That's exactly what I do now, except the clients are external advertisers and the solutions are Google's ad products.

So, why did you decide to leave Moonfare?

You have to remember that Moonfare was my first ever role after uni. So, after four and a half years, I was ready to try something different, to push myself into the next challenge. And that turned out to be a job at Google.

Final question: What advice would you give to someone starting a job at Moonfare?

I would say stay curious and open-minded.

Moonfare is full of incredible people who are willing to share what they know. You can learn so much from them. That's what kept me there for over four years.

Moonfarians aren't just there to do their jobs. They're invested in their projects, they care deeply about their work and they can help you grow. So tap into that.

And if you ever need help, there’s always someone who’s willing to jump in.

Thank you for sharing your story with us, Ewa.
