Moonfare recently completed the ISO 27001 certification, the leading international standard for information security. It was developed to help organizations protect their information, meet regulatory requirements and improve security controls.
Becoming ISO 27001 compliant means that a business has put in place a system “to manage risks related to the security of data owned or handled by the company, and that this system respects all the best practices and principles”, according to the International Organization for Standardization.¹
“We’ve invested almost a year of careful preparations to earn this certificate. Every department was involved at one point. It was truly a company-wide effort,” says Hassan Mussana, Moonfare’s Chief Information Security Officer who was spearheading the certification process.
“ISO 27001 is important because it demonstrates our commitment to information security. We are dealing with people’s money and investors need to be assured their capital is in safe hands,” Mussana concluded.
