Moonfare rounded off the first quarter and celebrated its upcoming one-year anniversary in Singapore by hosting our inaugural Global Investment Forum in the city-state, in partnership with Fidelity International.
Around 130 delegates from the region descended on the Fullerton Hotel Singapore for lively lunchtime discussions on private equity investing in the current economic climate as well as the democratisation of private markets.
In the first panel discussion, our Head of Partnerships in the region, Kit Toh, led an insightful conversation with other industry insiders, focused on discussing how to approach private equity investing in uncertain times.
Joining Kit was KKR’s Partner, Co-head of Private Equity for APAC & Head of Southeast Asia, Ashish Shastry, B Capital’s Founding General Partner Kabir Narang, and Ardian’s Managing Director of Secondaries & Primaries Michael Hu.
Each panellist brought their unique perspective on investing in the asset class during uncertainty, including how it affects different niches and the way fund managers can support portfolio companies.
Our second panel discussion covered the private market democratisation phenomenon, and where this trend may take us. Joining the discussion were Chuan Ji Lim, the APAC representative of the UBS Investment Bank’s team dealing in principal investments and strategic ventures, Boston Consulting Group’s Managing Director and Partner Sumit Kumar, and Chandrima Das, fintech entrepreneur and former global head of managed investments at Standard Chartered.
The panellists discussed topics including the factors driving further democratisation within the industry, opening up access specifically in Asia, and the potential impact of blockchain in the process.
We were delighted to host these engaging discussions in conjunction with Fidelity International for our global community. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
